I was going through my closet while in the midst of tearing the house apart for redecorating. It dawned on me that I really have no clothes for the fall. I have a lot of summer stuff & even more stuff for the winter, but nothing for those transitional seasons.
So I made the hour long trek to Middletown to go to the Galleria. Now, I haven't been to a mall in a long time. Long before we bought the house, that much I do know. I have a small sense of style, it just falls flat most of the time because I'm always in my scrubs. I have decided recently to make an effort to look at least half-decent when I'm not doing home renovations. Oh, to get back on track. I was in Macys for 1.5 hours & only managed to buy 4 things. For a change, I did try stuff on. That's probably how I only walked out with 4 things, as opposed to the 20 things I was carrying around. I got a nice pair of charcoal gray pants (capri's, but full length on me), a 3/4 sleeve chevron stripe shirt with a black satin sash around the waist & some unmentionables. I was really disappointed with the shopping. I got everything during a 75% off super sale, but the pickings were slim. I was either too fat or not fat enough for what was left. I looked for stuff in the petite section, but it all looked like stuff you would see on an old lady in Boca Raton. I'm starting to really understand why I do most of my shopping online.
I used to love going to the mall & going shopping. Now it just seems like such a chore. The only shopping that doesn't feel like a chore is shoe or purse shopping. Accessories never let you down because you can never really be the wrong size for them. That explanation, along with the simple fact of being female explains the shoe-purse addiction. Yeah, I'm sure Joe's going to be thrilled when he reads that line...
