I mentioned the other day that to battle the solemn mood that can accompany autumn, think about all the pleasant things that autumn has to offer. Below is my mini-list, but feel free to leave comments about what you love about the season.
Things to love about autumn:
- The crisp smell
- Pumpkins, carved or otherwise
- Apple picking
- Brightly colored leaves
- That crunchy sound leaves make beneath your feet as you walk
- Halloween, candy, costumes...
- Candy corn~greatest form of sugar other than marshmellow peeps!
- Thanksgiving
- Football season
- Football parties
- Baseball post season
- Warm days, followed by cool nights
- That first morning "nip" in the air
- Sweaters
- Fall fashion season
- Fireplaces~watching & smelling it
- Hot cider
- Bugs disappear
- That certain sense of relaxed sense of emotions that come with the earlier evenings & the cooler days: a perfect mood for spending a relaxing weekend afternoon or evening with a few friends or a loved one drinking good red wine and listening to some good music.
