Rizzo BBQ

Each year since I began dating Joe, we go to his Uncle Rod & Aunt Melda's house for a BBQ on Father's Day. They're related to Paul, Joe's father. I must say that getting together with that side of the family is nice & low key. It's a drastic change from Joe's mothers' family. It's a shame that we only see this side once a year, but at least they come from all over for this one party. The ever continuous rainy weather was staved off for 1 day. At one point, Joe, Mark, & Chester all went swimming in a chilly pool. They were joined by a 10 month old Chocolate Labrador that thought they were ducks he should be retrieving. It was so funny to watch the dog barking at the boys to keep them in the water. I have to admit, I'm surprised Joe didn't stay in the water longer. You would thing with all his fur, that he & the dog would've been in there for hours.

For the most part, we all sat around in lawn chairs that sank into the heavily saturated ground, watched the dogs play in the stream, & caught up on the lives of everyone while eating some really good food. We look forward to doing it again next year, even if we come up from South Carolina for it.

Saturday was time to catch up with Rob & Lauren. The boys played with the Xbox (big surprise), while Lauren went online house shopping with me. We were checking out things in Montague, which offered some really cute homes. It just stinks that they were so over priced. There were more nice houses on the Milford side of the world too. When Joe & I first went house shopping, there was nothing there, now there is a bit more & at a decent price. Other than that, we ate a dinner of bruchetta pizza (still killing my tummy) & eating some "super spicy puffy thingies" that I made after reading about in a Martha Stewart (satan) magazine. They weren't bad, but I think I really have to modify the amount of ground black pepper that is required for the recipe.
